Myles spent 42 years in the sales and sales management field with two manufacturers, Fairbanks, Morse & Co., for 4 years back in the '50s followed by 38 years with the Duriron Co., Inc, "Durco". in a variety of positions staring as a sales engineer, moving up to district manager and to a regional sales position in 1/3 of the US, and served as Manager of Sales & Marketing for the Valve Division in Cookevile, TN from 1983 to 1991, closing out his career retiring from a Business Unit position in 1997 when Durco merged into Flowserve Corp. In his career, he personally visited process plants across North America and much of the Asia Pacific region, gaining knowledge and building a network of contacts wherever he traveled.

His many years selling and managing sales of pumps, valves, automation and process flow controls in the process industry sector and management and motivation of sales channels, distribution, direct and indirect sales representative forces give him a unique perspective on the needs of our clients. Myles has worked in many of the positions in which we have  placed people.

In Myles' tenure at the Valve Division, he was active with the VMA, Valve Manufacturers of America and served as Chairman of the Chemical Industry Council and was selected as "Man of the Year in 1987 for his work calling attention to the "Bogus Valve Problem" in 1987 and was the founding Chairman of the Board of VRC, the Valve Repair Council, an arm of VMA. This last honor was a direct outgrowth of his having been the architect of the Authorized repair program at Durco, the "Black Tie" Authorized repair program. while serving at Cookeville. His involvement with sales and marketing of the Durco valve products involved product development, entry into new markets, P & L responsibility and channel management.
