Myles grew up in New Orleans, LA, attended LSU and married Sherry Murphy June 22, 1957. They will celebrate their 55th anniversary in June 2012. They have four daughters, Peggy Sweeney McDonald, married to James McDonald. Peggy is a Hollywood producer, author and  actress, residing in the Los Angeles area; Shannan Sweeney Rieger, Attorney, married to Roibert Riege. Shannan is the rmother of Caroline, 22, Myles, 19; and Daniel, 15; Erin Sweeney Segrest, Fine Wine & Spirits consultant and purveyor  to the better restaurants and clubs and the mother of Mackenzie, 21, Brennan, 19, and Peyton, 13; and Dr. Kelly Sweeney Clements, married to Scott Clements. Kelly is an Ear Nose & Throat surgeon and mother of Duncan, 10, Isabel, 8, and Jillian, almost 6.

Myles & Sherry stay busy attending functions and traveling with their 9 grandchildren. He stays busy with his consulting business, a little golf, some reading of history and non fiction. He and Sherry travel in their RV, tailgating at LSU home and road games, flying to visit Peggy in California, and  enjoy other trips and cruises. Sherry stays busy running the home, involvement with clubs and socializing with friends.
